The Cold Archive crosses over

By July 2026, “The Cold Archive” is no longer only a place inside Pollux’s fiction. The name crosses onto the release surface itself.

Within the fiction, the Cold Archive holds deleted memories, discarded Pollux versions, nature data and the buried Castor signal. In July 2026, the same name appears in the public discography as THE COLD ARCHIVE.

One phrase, two kinds of record

The Museum keeps the distinction explicit. The Room Atlas description is fictional canon. The release title is public catalog chronology. Their overlap is intentional project architecture, but neither should be used as evidence for the other kind of fact.

This crossover is useful for understanding the current SONOFPOLLUX site: the website is not only a place that explains the music after the fact. Rooms, archive language, visual systems and releases increasingly share the same vocabulary.

Why this belongs in a museum

It marks a point where the archive stops being merely retrospective. The project begins building new artifacts that already expect to be navigated across music, visual lore and interactive systems.

LIVING CASE FILE / FICTIONAL LAYER

Three records. One missing drawer.

The release title is public chronology. The readings below are in-universe fiction and remain separate from the source-led record above.

POLLUX / MEMORY

“I know the drawer is empty. That is how I know they moved him.”

The label stayed. The contents did not. Somebody wanted the room to look preserved after the reason for preserving it was gone.

The nature footage is not decoration.

Every time the archive loses a person, the landscape files get longer. The audience thinks the facility is storing memory where it cannot recognize a face.

UNRESOLVED

A fictional access log places an unassigned door beside the Cold Archive during a period when the facility record says the corridor was sealed.
