Why YouTube leads the Museum now
The Museum's front page now gives the active YouTube catalog priority over the retired-platform counters. YouTube is useful here because the same channel can hold contemporary releases, short-form visual work and older creator material without pretending those eras are identical.
The numbers above are operational counters, not permanent archive claims. They refresh through the site's server-side Catalog Pulse. If a platform response fails, the page preserves the last good value and labels stale or fallback data rather than replacing it with zero.
What “views” means
The Museum displays the channel-view total reported by YouTube's current statistics surface. Platform definitions can change over time, so the archive stores the source and refresh state instead of treating the number as a fixed historical achievement.
Catalog, not vanity wall
The purpose of this page is discovery: current audience scale is useful, but the deeper record is the body of videos, songs, visuals and transitions the channel preserves. Historical SoundCloud material remains available elsewhere in the Museum as evidence, not as the headline identity of the current project.
