What is SONOFPOLLUX?
It is an independent music project, a fictional world, and a public archive that keep feeding one another. The songs can stand alone, but recurring rooms, characters, images and release-era artifacts connect them into something larger.
The world
Pollux remembers what Braiden lives. The Cold Archive, Room Atlas and recurring colored rooms turn emotional material into a visual/narrative system. The lore is optional: listeners can discover it after the songs already mean something to them.
The creator
Braiden Rice is the human creator behind SONOFPOLLUX. The Creator Archive separates public record, documented credits, self-description and fictional canon so the project does not need mystery to depend on confusion.
The tools
Generative software is one part of a broader workflow. The public credits archive documents where tools appear in released work, while the final project identity comes from repeated human direction, selection, revision and continuity across releases.

SONOFPOLLUX is not a project invented around a recent tool. Braiden dates the music journey to a 2016 SoundCloud beginning, and surviving public records preserve a 2017 collaboration playlist, a 2018 eight-track SoundCloud album, a 53K+ play track from that era, and 2019 uploads before the modern distributed catalog begins.
2016–2019
SoundCloud, YouTube collaborations and producer pages form the underground archive. The exact first 2016 upload is not currently exposed by the index, so the site marks the date as creator-supplied and the surviving platform evidence separately.
2025–2026
The distributed catalog, Pollux character, public credit records and current AI-assisted production process become much easier to document. Read the recovered Origin Archive for the earlier history and source trail.

“AI music” can describe very different workflows. For SONOFPOLLUX, the useful distinction is not human versus machine as a slogan; it is which decisions are delegated, which decisions are directed, and which decisions stay attached to one creator over time.

Pollux is the recurring digital narrator of SONOFPOLLUX: a preserved witness built from Braiden's memories, avoidance, ambition, damage and creativity. She can protect him, resent him, expose him, depend on him or fear becoming unnecessary. She is a character with continuity—not a generic “AI girlfriend” or a claim that the music has no human creator.

The songs still begin with human-scale experiences: missed calls, ruined sleep, work, money pressure, fading relationships, isolation, ambition and feeling functional without feeling well.
